G. Marie Interiors | Residential New Construction
This newly built modern home was designed for a professional couple—both engineers—who sold their traditional, older residence to start fresh with a clean, contemporary architectural vision—creating a sophisticated, highly personal interior.
The clients’ vision centered on clean lines, layered textures, and a warm, inviting palette—while maintaining a high level of function for everyday living and frequent entertaining, balancing modern architecture with comfort and personality.
A key part of the design process involved rethinking the clients’ desire to replace everything with new furnishings. G. Marie Interiors curated and integrated select pieces from their global collection of objects and artwork, using them as focal moments.
G. Marie Interiors carefully specified the primary living and dining furnishings, including:
A sculptural curved sofa selected to soften the home’s strong architectural lines and encourage conversation
A custom dining table and dining chairs sourced from a Canadian manufacturer, chosen for their craftsmanship, scale, and timeless modern profile
Custom counter stools and finishes in the bathrooms and kitchen by Kohler
The completed home reflects a thoughtful balance of modern architecture, and custom and curated furnishings. Clean lines and contemporary forms are softened through texture, carefully chosen furniture silhouettes, and the integration of the clients’ international collections.
This project demonstrates G. Marie Interiors’ ability to guide clients beyond surface-level design decisions—creating spaces that are not only beautiful, but deeply representative of the people who live in them.
